About Me

I pursued the field of psychology because my early mentors were family therapists. As a depressed adolescent, my family sought the help of professionals. I was moved by a particular female psychologist who validated my sadness. Her words and presence during that hour has stuck with me forever. I'm sure that her family therapy work steered me to a path of wellness.

I was so inspired, that I completed a Bachelors degree in Psychology from San Francisco State University in 1991. I went on to achieving a Master's degree in Counseling at San Francisco State University in 1994.

I have been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for nine years. Prior to being licensed, I worked as an intern at a variety of settings. I've worked at community counseling centers, a residential treatment program, schools, and a foster family agency. Once licensed, I worked for a social service agency and ventured into private practice.

I've worked with teens, adults, children, groups, individuals, couples and families. I've felt that my personal experiences of pain, suffering and struggle have helped me to better relate to my clients.

The power of change is within each of us. With self reflection and guidance problems can be resolved. In a demanding world, it's vital to have an outlet, someone to talk to. We're all in this together.
